Aquiring income-generating ideas, assets, businesses and strategies to put you on the path to long-term financial freedom.
by Barbara A. Leuin, Ph.D.

The path to wealth generation begins with an income strategy that allows you to spend less than you earn, save the difference and invest wisely.  Often when people begin an accelerated path to wealth accumulation, they begin with multiple income sources.  This allows them to increase the rate at which they accumulate cash for saving and investing.

Multiple income streams is a key strategy of the ultra-wealthy.  Depending on what you like to do, these can be any combination of active and passive income sources.  Usually, when a person starts out on the income growth path, they tend to add extra jobs.  While this is a good start, it is not a complete strategy.  The key here is to “work smarter, not harder.”

Working smarter means leveraging your key resources:  time, talent and money.  How can you make your money work for you, instead of you working for your money?  How can you use your time more effectively to only engage in the activities that generate you the most cash, delegating the rest to other people?  How can you leverage your talent so that a single idea can generate multiple income streams?

Here are some ideas:

  • To leverage your time, use the internet to sell products while you sleep.
  • To leverage your talents, package yourself in as many different media as possible.  For example, write a book—you write the book once, and sell it many times over.
  • To leverage your money, invest in more marketing, where you get a multiplied return on your investment.
